Q1.
Peachtree cannot connect to its database Pervasive on computer 192.168.0.1 or another IP address.

Q1. Peachtree cannot connect to its database Pervasive on computer 192.168.0.1 or another IP address.
  Ans: This error occurs when the workstation drive that is mapped to Peachtree data is mapped to an IP address instead of a computer name. To correct this, follow the steps below:

1. Select Start, Programs, Accessories, and Windows Explorer.
2. View the left hand pane to locate the network drive where your Peachtree data is saved.
3. Note the drive letter used for this mapped drive. Right-click the drive letter and select Disconnect.
4. On the Tools menu, select Map Network Drive.
5. Select the same drive letter used before disconnecting the mapped drive.
6. Browse to the same location of the previously mapped drive under the computer name where data is kept..
7. Click Finish.


Q2. I am receiving an error message, "A Terminal Server must be in install mode in order to install a program" when attempting to install a Peachtree Service Release Update.  How can I resolve this issue?
  Ans: In order to switch to Install Mode do the following:
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type cmd, and then click OK.
3. At the command prompt, type change user /install, and then press Enter.
4. Type exit, and then press Enter.

After installing the Service Release, switch the server back to Execute Mode with the following steps:
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type cmd, and then click OK.
3. .At the command prompt, type change user /execute, and then press Enter.
4. Type exit, and then press Enter.


Q3. I would like to access my Peachtree data remotely. How do I accomplish this?
  Ans: You can access your Peachtree data remotely by making use of the Terminal Services feature on selected version of Windows OSes. .
Terminal Services is a Microsoft feature included in some of the server versions of the Windows operating system. It allows remote users to access data from a remote site, and requires a computer to be set up specifically as a terminal services server. Terminal Services is supported for Peachtree Premium Accounting and higher.

  Ans:
Note: This article contains information about how to modifying the registry.  It is strongly recommend that you backup the registry before you modify it. You should perform these steps only if you are familiar with editing the Windows Registry. 
1. Close Peachtree.
2. Press the Windows logo and R keys on your keyboard to open the Run window.
3. Type regedit in the Open box.
4. Browse to the following in the Registry Editor window that appears: 
     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PEYX489ZK
5. Highlight the PEYX489ZK key and select Delete from the Edit menu.
6. Close the registry screen.
7. Go to Start, Search, Find Files and Folders.
8. Change the Look In to the location of your Peachtree datapath. Default path is at C:\Program Files\Sage\Peachtree\Company 
9. Search for ENV*.*  You should find 4 files; envuser.dat, envuser.ptl, envsess.dat and envsess.ptlDelete these 4 files.  
10. Search for and delete Options.dat, Serial.dat.
11. Search for and delete Cosess.*
12. Open Peachtree and open your company. 
       You may receive an error message advising that Options.dat could not be found.  Click through the error and a new
        Options.dat will be created.  You will also be required to enter your serial and registration numbers for the software again.
        It is possible that after converting the database, the program did not replace the old DDF files with the new ones. In order to        resolve this issue, please follow the steps below.
  1. Delete all the DDF files in the individual company folder, then reopen the company. 
  2. When your company is reopened, new DDF files will get installed for that particular Peachtree company folder.


Q5. Peachtree user is unable to print invoices, even though he\she has Full Access security settings to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable in Peachtree.
  Ans: In this scenario, a user has “Full Access” to all options related to Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable.  However, they are unable to print or email related transactions.  To resolve this issue, the Peachtree user must have “Full Access” to the Post and Un-post options.  Follow these steps:
  1. In Peachtree, click Maintain, Users, Set Up Security.
  2. Click to highlight the user’s name on the list and click the Edit User’s Rights button on the right.
  3. In the User Security window, click the Company option in the left panel.
  4. In the Task Area list on the right, scroll down and locate the Tasks submenu.
  5. Change the level of access for Post and Un-Post to Full Access for this user.

  6. Click Save.


Q6. After saving my automatic backup configuration the schedule button is not available
  Ans: After saving the company I want to backup and saving the folder I want to back up to in a .ptc file, the schedule button is not available.

The automatic backup configuration requires a Windows Administrator User ID and password. If the Windows User ID does not have a password, create one and then reboot. This must be done before you can schedule an automatic backup.

Q7. When viewing reports I receive a message that Peachtree has generated errors and will be shut down
  Ans: This error may occur when the file containing the Peachtree Accounting standard reports has become corrupted or damaged. In order to correct the problem, you need to remove the damaged file and run a Repair from the Peachtree installation CD. Follow the steps below to complete this process.

Note: All steps should be performed on the server, or the computer where the Peachtree data is hosted.
  1. Make sure Peachtree is closed on all computers.
  2. Locate and record your Peachtree Datapath.
  3. Using My Computer or Windows Explorer, go to the folder you wrote down in the previous step. Open the folder and locate the file named RPTDATAI.DAT. Right-click the file and select Rename. Change the file name to rptdatai.dat.OLD.
  4. Insert the Peachtree program CD into your CD drive. On the first menu, select Remove or Modify Peachtree Accounting.
  5. A screen will list the versions of Peachtree you are using. Select the version of Peachtree Accounting you are having the problem with.
  6. After accepting the license agreement, you will get a screen with three options: Add Components, Repair, and Remove. Select Repair and click Next.
  7. Once the repair process has completed, go back to the data path folder you wrote down in Step 2. Open the Updates folder, and find the latest Service Release for your version of Peachtree. The file name will contain the version name (PCW, PPA, PTX, etc), the year of the version of Peachtree, the letters "SR", followed by a number. If there is more than one file, select the one with the highest SR number at the end and double-click to start the update.
After completing these steps, you should no longer receive errors when printing your reports.
